Allie and Jorge met while working at the University of Northeen, Colorado, where Jorge was the lead chef and Allie had just started as a prep cook after completing her degree at the university. Both from mountain towns they had been dating for four years before Jorge's surprise proposal. We caught up with the couple to chat all about their engagement captured stunningly by Amanda Podesta Photography and we must admit we are just a little bit in love with the couples adorable fur baby!
What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. (example: pushing each other to new limits, love to travel, huge comic book fans, foodies, etc.) What makes your relationship unique? We both love the same things and love the same lifestyle! From snowboarding together to wanting to travel to the same places to wanting to eat the same entrée for dinner. It’s so great to be able to want to do anything and everything with your best friend.
How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship? (these may often be the same moment, but aren’t always) I think that we knew this early on. When we started really getting to know each other and each others likes and interests. Once we had found out how alike we were, we had realized we had found each others other half!
Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process? The proposal was amazing! We go to reggae on the rocks at red rocks amphitheatre every year so there was no reason to think this was different. My favourite band was headlining the day of concerts; Rebelution. Jorge waited until they were playing and got my attention and all of a sudden, got down to a knees with a big shiny ring in a box! Everyone around us knew about it and started screaming and lighting up a circle around us with their phone lights. We were the centre of attention on the huge show and it was so magical.
We’re all about the bling… Tell us all about that ring! The ring is the perfect combination of everything I liked! We had gone ring shopping before, just for fun, and when Jorge picked out “the one”, he had combined unique characteristics of three different rings that I liked! It’s got a “blingy” band, two tiers of diamonds in a square shape and so much vintage detail in the setting.
