Anastasia and Nick

Anastasia and Nick's were married in chic fall wedding in Chicago, surrounded by romantic and timeless details. Erin Dobosiewicz, of Cinder and Vin Photography didn't miss a single moment capturing it all from the delicate beading of Anastasia's accessories to the gleam in her new wedding bands and we just knew we had to catch up with the happy couple to learn more about their special day.

Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day? During the planning process we tried to  pick  decor, florals, attire etc.  that were timeless and classic.  Bridesmaids wore a biscotti full length gown with gold thread throughout the top.  The groomsmen wore navy tuxedos and the groom matched with the exception of black lapels.

Let's talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY? Our church was quite grand and required no Decor.  Cocktail hour  are used a number of mirrored and acrylic frames to display our engagement photos and our parents wedding photos. The look was tied  together with small floral arrangements through out. A massive mirror displayed our handwritten seating chart and crystal  tea light candles hinted toward the  reception Decour still to come. Centerpieces at the reception included four foot  crystal candelabras and a number of white flowers in  Glass vases that varied in height.

What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding? Again, trying to stay classic, we chose a number of white flowers. Bouquets included  Garden roses, pennies, and  Italian Ruscus and boutonnieres where is simple single ranculant.  The centerpieces also included these flowers and we’re very simple and elegant.

Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding? Staying true to both of our nationalities we included a bagpiper outside of the church (bride is Irish) and our first dance was sung partially in Italian ( Groom is Italian) it was nice to honor our nationalities and families in these ways.

Let's talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail. I wore a David Tutera full lace gown with a sweetheart neckline and drop waist silhouette. I paired it with a cathedral veil and simple water pearl earrings/bracelet. Nick is certainly the more fashion forward of the couple and opted for a navy Tuxedo With black lapels and stripe down the pants. He wore the Tuxedo with velvet shoes and  Black bowtie.

How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal. Nick and I met on a dating app called bumble. Although we were both skeptical to give it a shot, we are so glad we did! Before heading out to dinner with friends Nick walked me through downtown Naperville and  when we reached a bridge he stopped me and proposed. After we  went to Empire (where we had our first date) where our friends and family were waiting to celebrate the news!

What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day? Besides the “I Do’s”, of course.. Nick and I decided to take dance lessons leading up to the wedding and did not tell anyone about it. Our first dance was choreographed and very extravagant... it was a lot of fun to put on a show for our friends and family  and dance class as a date night is something we still choose to do even after the wedding!

Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you'd like to share with other couples planning their day? Stop and enjoy the day! After the  ceremony and photos we slipped away to our reception hall where we shared appetizers, champagne, and our first dance privately. I think it was the only time all day that we were alone. One of the most memorable part of our wedding day
