Iridescent Galactic Inspiration

Tonight's inspiration is literally out of this world with the talented team, led by Photographer Mary of We Choose the Moon Photography, set about creating a spectacular iridescent intergalactic inspired elopement.

Speaking to Mary we discover that, this intergalactic theme came to life after she found a DIY tutorial on dip dying veils, venturing further into the realm of DIY dyeing she stumbled across another tutorial on how to tie-dye a shirt to look like a galaxy. After giving it some thought the idea to marry the two concepts together to create a unique bridal look for a bride that wanted to add some colour and uniqueness into their wedding day look and the Galaxy Veil was created. Not wanting it to look like a child's outer space birthday party, Mary with the assistance of All About You Celebrations, kept the galaxy pattern to the brides veil and the grooms tie and complimented it with elegant simple styling in a palette of Magenta, Purple and Blue with eye catching iridescent touches.

The teams florist Blooms by Essential Details incorporated a range of delicate blooms with pops of purple from the stunning anemone petals to the delicate soft peaches of the luscious roses to mimic the ebb and flow within the iridescent accents which brought a soft, feminine and elegant feel to the otherwise otherworldly look of harsh rocky landscape at the Falling Rock Park Quarry.

The ceremony space was styled with a simplistic asymetrical black frame, from which three circles hung, carefully draped with iridescent ribbons wrapped through them. As the breeze picked up the strands the scene became oddly reminiscent of a moment stretched in time with rippling portals twisting and turning freezing the couple in a moment of love in their own world.

The teams stunning bride, was an intergalactic queen, in a stunning full bridal skirt from Rebecca's Wedding Boutique and off the shoulder long sleeved black top, the the real show stopper here however, was the hand dyed veil created by Mary. Her bridal look was completed with hair styling by Gretchen Burcham, makeup by Taylor Kane McLeod and raw crystal rings from Nazari Jewelry and statement earrings from Find Designs.

Not to be outdone, the teams dapper groom was styled in a matching galaxy tie, delicate buttonhole by Blooms by Essential Details that matched the brides bouquet and a classic custom tailored black suit from Indochino, that even the men in black would be jealous of!

The Cake for the shoot was created by Mix & Match Cakes who created a hexagonal shaped two tiered rippled buttercream cake that was styled to match the theme perfectly with the addition of clusters of Crystals.

Stationery for the shoot was created by Fangman Designs who took the fun playful elements within the iridescent reflections and crafted a one of a kind suite that incorporated the elegant whimsical side of the shoot in a custom watercoloresque invitation that was paired with a striking black envelope with gold calligraphy.

Our Favourite detail by far however, was the addition of the kaleidoscopic iridescent eye the bride and groom absolutely rocked. It left us wondering if they were preparing to watch the arrival of some 'out of town' guests.

We invite you to sit back and relax as you enjoy the images from this incredible shoot and let us know what your favourite moment is, and don't forget to check out the list of vendors below and follow the links to discover some serious talent and inspiration for your big day!
