Mountains, Mist & Lace

It's flashback Fri-YAY here in the office today, and we are taking you back to this epic editorial feature from our Winter 2018 Magazine captured by one of our favourite photographers of all time Hilary Cam Photography.

Hilary and Nicola of Hilary Cam Photography, are the best at what they do and quality is the core of their business, they understand that it's not just the big picture that needs to be captured but all those little details and moments in between that truly take a session from being just captured to the preservation of a moment and just as you will see with this editorial session the end result is stunningly authentic photographs that are not only meaningful but stunning works of art.

Mountains, Mist and Lace, was captured on a frosty afternoon by a dedicated team of local Southern Highland wedding professionals, braving the cold they ventured to a picturesque hillside on a private property in the Robertson countryside and made some absolute magic.

With more and more couples seeing the need to celebrate their love whilst minimising their ecological footprint they have been turning their attention to industry providers that provide outstanding quality and service whilst ensuring that their products are both sustainable and eco-friendly. However, there is still a resistance to the movement with some preconceived idea that you cannot create a show stopping look without cutting the corners just a little bit.

The outstanding team behind this editorial shoot took up the challenge and set about showing the world just how stunning an eco-friendly and sustainable wedding could be and we are in awe of their determination to not only make a difference but their incredible work.

Lily the teams stunning bride was a picture of radiance, with her bridal look created by the lovely Yvette of Ethix Makeup Beauty & Styling. Yvette, a holistic beauty therapist who calls the Southern Highlands home, believes that beautiful skin comes from inside as well as out and starts off the journey to the perfect bridal look with a pre-wedding consultation that involves a wellness guide and skincare advice to help you prepare your skin for your big day.

She believes that natural products are the ultimate luxury and does not align her brand with any products that could compromise your health. Every product in their range is handpicked by Yvette, having first been tested on her own overly sensitive skin before being added as a product. Yvette carries products for all skin types and all levels of coverage and each product is cruelty-free, vegan and mineral or organic wherever possible.

Bridal makeup to Yvette should be timeless and elegant and as beautiful in real life as in the photographs, nothing looks more beautiful than a bride that is confident with her look and that is what Yvette strives to do by creating a look that is still you but a more luminous and polished version of yourself.

The talent behind the stunning couture gowns in this spectacular editorial is none other than Pearl Button Bespoke Bridal, who are creating a wedding dress revolution with beautifully crafted dresses that are ethically and sustainably made. Based on the south coast of New South Wales, Pearl Button are accredited with Ethical Clothing Australia, meaning you can rest assured that your gown will be made ethically and to the highest of standards.

Keeping alive traditional hand sewing techniques of the past, Pearl Button are not only able to use carefully curated fabrics from trusted Australian fabric suppliers in natural fibres, silks, wools and cottons to create a custom one of a kind couture gown but they are able to take your treasured family heirlooms and turn them into modern couture gowns that simply take our breath away. If you are searching for the perfect gown we strongly encourage to visit their studio just outside Milton in New South Wales to see the magic for yourself.

Floral Designer and Stylist, Dianna of Dragonfly & Magnolia approaches floristry with a unique aim in mind to always provide locally sourced flowers and products, keeping it clean and green, with no plastics, cellophane glues or floral foam in sight! Dianna's creative style is inspired by nature and it's seasons and is blended into a naturally wild and romantic gardenesque style.

When it came to creating a bouquet to compliment this editorial session, Dianna chose to utilise foraged greens and only one signature bloom, local Australian grown ranunculus. The choice to keep the bouquet simplistic not only highlighted the beauty of the ranunculus but kept the eco footprint of the session to minimum.

When it came to styling the session, the teams stylists Dianna of Dragonfly & Magnolia together with Elizabeth of Elk Prints, chose to utilise what was surrounding them in nature, and only bring in natural or recycled items like the refurbished vintage furniture and natural soy candles. The addition of a fallen branch adorned with foraged dogwood and wild jasmine from the property, created an earthy and natural bohemian vibe that truly captured our hearts.

Cake... it doesn't take a great deal to convince us that it is amazing but looking at the creations from this session our mouths were watering and we were wishing we could conjure them out of our monitors! Created by the talented Kimberley of The Sweet Cake Collection both of these stunning creations are a testament to her outstanding creative work.

Wedding stationery is one of your first loves, it is the very first thing that your guests see and sets the tone for the entire wedding experience and we LOVED the stationery created by the talented artist Elizabeth of Elk Prints for this editorial shoot. The custom handmade invitations were loving water coloured by hand onto 100% recycled handmade paper. The stunning modern minimalist design was paired with a quaint pictorial watercolor map and modern calligraphy.

We invite you to sit back and relax as you discover some serious talent and inspiration for your big day from this incredible shoot and don't forget to check out it's original feature in our Winter 2018 Edition of the Becoming One Magazine
