Vintage Bohemian at Empire Mills

Brandy Angel Photography, hit it out of the ballpark, with a vintage/ bohemian styled shoot that’s bold, bright and colourful! Planned by No Regrets Events at Madison, GA venue, Empire Mills, this southern romance was bursting with colour from beautiful bold florals styled by Le Petite Jardin. We loved everything about this wedding inspiration and know you will too – the dresses, the adorable models, the eclectic venue and all the picture perfect details saturated in bold dazzling colour!

A Message from the Photographer:

When I first walked into Empire Mills I was blown away by the beautiful renovation of the newest Madison, GA venue. It seemed like the perfect place to bring to life a styled shoot I have wanted to do for a long time. I wanted to do a bohemian wedding with more or a romantic, vintage touch. With bright, bold colours, lace and special southern touches.

The owner's daughter, Savannah and her sister Sophie were the perfect bride and bridesmaid for my vision and are two of the most photogenic people I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. My daughters, who are very versed in being Mommy's models, were the perfect flower girls and our model Craig was the perfect groom to finish off our picture perfect wedding party.

When Nancy and I met and brought our ideas together I became more and more excited to bring this styled shoot to life. We went with a beautiful long sleeved, lace , backless White One Barcelona wedding dress that fit Savannah perfectly and paired it with a bold flower crown that our hair stylist put together with extra flowers. I decided to have our bride change into a bold red lace gown for the reception and it was stunning. What a unique way to stand out even more at your own reception.

Built in 1913 by Empire Mills Cotton Company. The original cotton gun sits in the centre of the property and has been transformed into a beautiful space suitable for a chapel, music hall or event space for up to 150 guests. The banquet hall runs parallel to the train tracks with many of the original elements still intact. With the addition of 3 enormous locally welded iron chandeliers, the banquet hall offers rustic elegance for events up to 500 guests. It is flanked with an interior courtyard and pasture side courtyard which features the original red correlated metal blacksmith shed and antique syrup kettle fire drums. Also on property is a bridal cottage which served as the original office for the mill, and a separate room with loft space where the groom and groomsmen can relax in style with a wet bar, comfortable sofas and a flat screen television. Hallie Duan purchased the dormant property in 2012 and within the guidelines of the State and Federal historic preservation commission, she has renovated and restored this beautiful gem - highlighting its original character while adding modern design elements and amenities.
