With the slow season (aka Winter) upon them this outstanding team pull together a stunning earthy bohemian styled Moroccan wedding, captured by Breeanna Kay Photography, styled by Wed & Willow and filled to the brim with intricate and unexpected details, we just know you will love!

A Message from the Photographer:

Wisconsin winter months can be quite looming with the icy weather taking a toll on fiery, creative pursuits. That's why it's a perfect time to start dreaming up vibrant editorial shoots. We planned a colourful, culturally-inspired bridal shoot anchored in earthy, organic décor to inspire couples to see style and design in new, attainable ways, utilising eco-friendly options with modern authentic touches.

Modern couples look to this venue as a stunning blank space that they can dream up their own vision for. It's a photographer's dream with open space and textural walls.

We created a ceremony piece across a macramé or art installation with bohemian or fringe vibes utilizing pieces from a local event rentals vendor. Florals would be integrated throughout the shoot in the bouquet, ceremony site, and table décor. Floral tones; oranges, rust tones, reds, whites, and natural twigs and greens for wild filler.

Food highlights warm spices, fresh herbs, fruits, and colourful dishes. Stylish plating and dishes for table settings. Dessert is a decorative cake with henna detail designs against a simple colour palette. Tables have layering of natural textures such as ceramic, concrete, and wood. Settings will showcase decorative plates, goblets and candles. Colour palette will feature greens, muted greys, whites, and taupe's. Detailing throughout the styling pulled in cinnamon sticks, spices, herbs, and candles and incense throughout the table to highlight the culture, along with hand-dyed linen napkins, decorative table linen, fringe or macramé runners, antique gold hues.

Playing on intricate details and handwork in the stationary suite. Envelope liners, natural edge papers, and using leather or fabric linens into the design suite. Use of incense and other spiritual elements to further infuse the energy work of Eastern cultures. These could stay within a neutral palette or the opposite of warm saturated colours to really pop, with simple lines and modern script.

The bride is in a gown that is naturally flowing with intricate details. Menswear would be casual with a wedding edge. Hair and makeup will be natural with warm hues that compliment her skin tone. Includes white henna on hands.

A Message from the Photographer:

When I first walked into Empire Mills I was blown away by the beautiful renovation of the newest Madison, GA venue. It seemed like the perfect place to bring to life a styled shoot I have wanted to do for a long time. I wanted to do a bohemian wedding with more or a romantic, vintage touch. With bright, bold colours, lace and special southern touches.

The owner's daughter, Savannah and her sister Sophie were the perfect bride and bridesmaid for my vision and are two of the most photogenic people I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. My daughters, who are very versed in being Mommy's models, were the perfect flower girls and our model Craig was the perfect groom to finish off our picture perfect wedding party.

When Nancy and I met and brought our ideas together I became more and more excited to bring this styled shoot to life. We went with a beautiful long sleeved, lace , backless White One Barcelona wedding dress that fit Savannah perfectly and paired it with a bold flower crown that our hair stylist put together with extra flowers. I decided to have our bride change into a bold red lace gown for the reception and it was stunning. What a unique way to stand out even more at your own reception.

Built in 1913 by Empire Mills Cotton Company. The original cotton gun sits in the centre of the property and has been transformed into a beautiful space suitable for a chapel, music hall or event space for up to 150 guests. The banquet hall runs parallel to the train tracks with many of the original elements still intact. With the addition of 3 enormous locally welded iron chandeliers, the banquet hall offers rustic elegance for events up to 500 guests. It is flanked with an interior courtyard and pasture side courtyard which features the original red correlated metal blacksmith shed and antique syrup kettle fire drums. Also on property is a bridal cottage which served as the original office for the mill, and a separate room with loft space where the groom and groomsmen can relax in style with a wet bar, comfortable sofas and a flat screen television. Hallie Duan purchased the dormant property in 2012 and within the guidelines of the State and Federal historic preservation commission, she has renovated and restored this beautiful gem - highlighting its original character while adding modern design elements and amenities.

Both born and raised in Alabama, Mercedes and Adam moved Nashville to their favourite vacation spot in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado where finally after 10 years Adam popped the question at their local ski resort with Amanda Podesta Photography there to capture the love and laughter. We caught up with the happy couple to hear more about their love story an here is what they had to say.

Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet? We are from the same hometown in Alabama and had mutual friends. He sent me a message on Myspace that he liked my music playlist on my profile. The rest is history...Does that tell you how old we are?!

What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. (example: pushing each other to new limits, love to travel, huge comic book fans, foodies, etc.) What makes your relationship unique? We are go-getters. We enjoy staying busy together whether it's a home renovation or riding our mountain bikes. These experiences, big and small, bring us closer everyday. Can you say carpe diem?!

How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship? (these may often be the same moment, but aren’t always) There hasn't been a defining moment per say, more like, the fact that we've stood by each others side for the last decade. Most couples get married and "start a life together". For us, getting married means celebrating everything that we have accomplished together in our ten year relationship.

Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process? He surprised me with friends showing up from out of state. We all decided to go to Monarch ski area for the day. He planned on us hiking up to the Mirkwood Basin but access to the run had been closed off. So with no other plan in mind, he picked a random run and got down on one knee while our friends cheered and took photos. I was totally caught off guard!

We’re all about the bling… Tell us all about that ring! One karat round cut with an interlocking band on a high setting. Simple and classy.

Are you excited to start planning your wedding day? Do you have any ideas in mind yet? Very excited. My Pinterest board has too many ideas! The plan is to do two separate parties. First, a small ceremony at Little River Falls where we grew up followed by a reception at the Canyon Centre with our family and close friends. Second, we are going to have a "river party" at the Ocoee River with all of our outdoor friends. Warning, the second party might get a little crazy.
