A MODERN YET VINTAGE AFFAIR

We love it when industry creatives come together to create inspirational content that proves that you are only limited by your imagination. This Austin, Texas, based team lead by Event Planner, Alex Moreau of XO Moreau Wedding & Events and Photographer Nikkolas Nguyen created a stunning session that melds two trending wedding concepts together, showing us that you don't have to settle for just one look on your special day.

Speaking with Alex she explains: "With so much wedding inspiration out there, and so many couples getting lost in the labyrinth that is Pinterest, we are finding that our couples are becoming confused and they start to believe that they have to choose just one look for their wedding." Alex and the team set about disproving this way of thinking by designing a this styled shoot around the idea of combining two popular and individually distinctive styles together to create an aesthetic that becomes a comprehensive style in itself.

The team chose to meld the current 'Vintage' and 'Modern' trends together, utilising a unique variety of pieces from the hire collection of Bee Lavish Vintage to make a visual statement. Old, weathered leather chairs at the sweetheart table, with candelabras and an old hat box set the tone for the reception with a mid-century backdrop that carried that 1920's vintage art deco vibe vintage into the outdoor ceremony.

The venue creating the perfect backdrop for the shoot was The Addison Grove, a stunning property located less than 20 minutes from downtown Austin, offering the best of both worlds with the convenience of the city close by and the charm of the Austin Hill countryside. The 6,000 square foot rustic, yet modern barn is home to grande chandeliers juxtaposed beautifully against large overhead timber beams. Rolling glass doors enable the space to be transformed into a fully immersible indoor outdoor experience with an addition 1,800 square feet of covered patio area that overlooks a breathtaking pastoral view of native Texas wildflowers and longhorns. Awarded the best new venue by The Venue Report, it isn't hard to see why, they have simply thought of everything, a bridal house is also available for couples to use in the lead up to the wedding with private manicured gardens, towering oak trees and a pond. This property is truly enchanting offering guest an experience of beauty in nature like no other.

Kennan the talent behind Foxglove & Grace, has a passion for flower and it can be clearly seen in her stunning floral designs for this shoot. Her organic and flowing style, pulling from nature for inspiration melds the concept of wild untamed and oversized with the old fashioned love of big bold blooms reminiscent of the organic and wild depictions found in the paintings of the Dutch Master themselves. Kennan loves to design in monochromatic color schemes and garden style shapes, she uses fresh cut flowers, foraged blooms and greenery to get the look just right, and the result here is simply and utterly breathtaking! Based in Austin, Texas, Kennan creates her brand of magic in the surrounding areas of Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth and San Antonio and can be contacted for work in locations beyond.

Grace, the teams stunning bride was simply glowing as she had her hair and makeup done by LUSTREbella. The completed bridal look featured classic bangs that framed her face with a wrap around braided style, giving a subtle nod to eras gone by. The modern simplicity of Grace's Tara La Tour designed gown from Unbridaled combined with subtle jewellery pieces from Shaesby, created a look that was the perfect epitome of an elegant modern bride.

Not to be outdone, Chris the teams dapper groom was styled in a classic wide lapel black suit straight from the pages of a 1920's gatsby style affair and was brought into the modern era with the use of a deep forest green turtleneck shirt from Bonobos and we must say we are quite taken with the look!

Alex tells us that one of her favourite details from the shoot were the menus created by stationery designer Owl and Envelope. Each unique hand crafted menu featured the guests name and dinner option of choice on stunning crystal clear acrylic sheets and were layered on top of the plates on bed of fresh flowers, adding a whimsical and romantic note to the table scape.

We invite you to sit back and relax as you enjoy the images from this incredible shoot and let us know what your favourite moment was, and don't forget to check out the list of vendors and follow the links to discover some serious talent and inspiration for your big day!
