Dia de los Muertos

Typically the day of the dead, or Dia de los Muertos, is not something that is associated with weddings, however this evening to our great delight we are able to share an inspirational styled shoot, captured by Wild Love Grows, that takes this out of the box concept turning it into an extraordinarily spectacular session that exudes an elegance that is unparalleled. The team has created an untraditional celebration that not only commemorates loved ones passed on, but also celebrates life in a passionate and heartfelt way with the use of bold and brilliant pops of colour that take on a life of their own.

The shoot was inspired by brides and grooms who are unafraid of showing off their personality and adding unique elements, such as bold colours, unexpected centrepieces, and bold style choices. Velvet tan chairs, dark furnishings and cranberry red candles made a bold and unforgettable statement that really set the theme into motion. The shoots crimson florals were both beautiful and captivatingly startling set amongst the otherwise sombre backdrop. A spectacular themed three-tiered cake was the feature of the styled reception with a striking splash of bronze contrasting in a geometrical pattern against a black ombre background, but that was not our favourite detail, it was the unexpected sugar skull cake topper.

The team chose a stunning mixture of classical and alternative styling for their couple, Annie and Daniel, choosing a more traditional yet chic approach in their choice of the spectacularly breathtaking fitted lace ivory gown with dramatic bell sleeves, and a full white three-piece suit. Then quite unexpectedly the session takes an alternative turn with both Annie and Daniel appearing dressed from head to toe in black. Their colourful painted sugar skull masks added the finishing touch to the day's theme whilst a full and luscious floral crown adorning Annies' hair added a bright pop of colour softening the overall look. Her floor-length black gown featured a deep v-neck, semi-sheer long sleeves, and a soft tulle a-line skirt, and we were completely smitten with the entire look!

With a plethora of spectacular elements to this editorial, it's hard to describe our favourite so instead, we are going to recommend that you scroll down and look through the images that tell the story in the details far better than our words ever could. We also urge you to check out the links to the talented team that made this concept come to life and discover fresh ideas and talent to include in your own special days.
