There is nothing we love more than opening our emails to find inspiration that has taken a step outside of that 'traditional' wedding box, so you can imagine our excitement when we saw the images of this stunning bohemian styled elopement session captured by one of our favourite photographers Nikkolas Nguyen Photography.
Speaking with Nikk, we discover that this shoot was a passion project that had been in the works for some time, but it wasn't until Nikk saw the stunning details in the Aegean gown from Austin bridal boutique, Unbridaled, by designer Rue de Seine Bridal, that the shoot came together.
Taking a closer look at the Aegean Gown we can see exactly why the team were so captivated with all the intricate details, from the Wild at Hearts collection from Rue de Seine, this stunning gown is inspired by the color seen while travelling. Aegean is bold and unapologetically dramatic. Dip dyed tassels drape over blue gradient embroidery, creating a truly gypsy aesthetic. The gowns fitted bodice with off white crochet trim, highlights the waist and compliments the figure. A flattering deep ‘V’ neckline, stunning wide flowing sleeves with an opening shows off the arms and dares the wearer to twirl just to see them fly, whilst the semi full skirt and generous train give you the essence of a traditional bridal gown whilst remaining true to its unique aesthetic, and for those that love the style but have their hearts set on a white wedding, Rue de Seine make this stunning gown in an off white style which can be found on their website here.
The team knew that by choosing such a spectacular gown they would need to ensure that it was captured somewhere as naturally beautiful and bold as the gown itself. Enlisting the help of stylist and event planner Pearl Events Austin, to assist in creating this stunning session at The Contemporary Austin - Laguna Gloria.
Laguna Gloria is one of the most desired and award winning venues in Central Texas and is home to a Mediterranean style Villa and gorgeous landscaping built in 1916 by Clara Driscoll. This stunning venue is located a short five miles from the centre of town on the shores of the picturesque Lake Austin. With multiple ceremony spaces, and indoor and door options for your reception (of up to 150 guests) this enchanting mediterranean setting is the perfect choice for intimate destination elopements and larger scale celebrations.
The team chose took the raw natural mediterranean elegance of the venue and the travel inspired Aegean gown and created a sunset celebration that was romantic and soft but yet edgy and contemporary. Using elegant bohemian pieces from the hire collection of Loot Rentals along with the venues stunning style the team heighten the feeling of being abroad and had us believing we were witnessing an elopement in the middle of the Aegean Sea at an exclusive hidden villa. The addition of stunning peach toned florals masterfully created by the talented team from Wildly Cultivated Floral Design, highlighted the peach florals of the Rue de Seine gown and complimented the blue accents and bohemian style and brought with it a sense of an effortless and wild style.
The teams stunning bride, Jodileigh was a picture of effortless bohemian chic with a glowing natural bridal look by Makeup Artist Leslie of Leslie Jo Beauty and a wild tumbling swept back hairstyle by the talented Victoria of V Styling, her look was completed with floral hair accessories by Wildly Cultivated Floral Design and jewellery from Shaesby.
Not to be outdone, the teams dapper groom, Anthony, rocked a casually styled black suit from Bonobos featuring an open necked white dress shirt and black and white pocket square. The look was brought together with the addition of a beautiful full buttonhole crafted by the team at Wildly Cultivated Floral Design featuring florals from the brides bouquet.
What can we say about this spectacular cake that it doesn't already say about itself? except that we are loving that Cakes ROCK chose to highlight the moodiness of this shoot by creating this enchanting multi tiered black cake. Featuring hand crafted sugar flower in tones of cream, soft peach and luminous gold the upper tiers were covered in delicate moulding that spilled down over the lower tiers. The only thing we don't like about this spectacular cake is that we weren't there to see it for ourselves!
One of our favourite elements of the shoot was the simplistically styled ceremony space with vistas overlooking the shores of Lake Austin. The addition of subtle candlelight added to the intimate feel of this elopement ceremony and we were utterly captivated by the soft flickering candle light as the sunset over the water.
