TIS THE SEASON

What better way to say Merry Christmas to our wonderful readers than with a styled christmas bridal shoot captured by the talented Keira McCall, it shows us just how to have a festive celebration in style!

There is something about Christmas time that makes us all mushy inside, and speaking with Studio B. Couture about this concept it was clear that we weren't alone. Lorelie from Studio B. Couture explains that the concept for the shoot came one night after watching the The Grinch, a few tears were shed and she couldn't help think about it over and over in her head so she went back to the book by Dr Seuss and read...

"And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.” ― Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

Lorelie tells us the reason she couldn't get the movie out of her head was that Christmas is all about the people you love and making memories and celebrating and what better way to celebrate love than with the ultimate declaration of love... a marriage? So together with a few close industry friends she set about creating a celebration of love with some serious festive vibes!

The shoot captured by Keira McCall, a dedicated mum and extremely talented, family, wedding and portrait photographer based in Brisbane, who tells the story though a documentary style of photography. She is a firm believer in her motto "Love, Naturally ~ Live, Authentically ~ Be In The Moments."

Not only was Keira the photographer but she is also the proud mum of our two adorable flower girls Norah and Lola and we can't get over how adorable they look! Lorelie from Studio B. Couture wanted to show that a fortune didn't have to be spent on styling for your special day and chose to dress the girls in stunning white and gold dresses from Kmart and dressed it up with tights and ballet flats and two of the prettiest floral crowns from Peridot Pretty that you have ever seen!

The Erik Gown by When Freddie Met Lilly was the core of the Shoot, its subtle sexiness and alluring low back combined with nude tulle and burgundy lace details, created the base of the rich colour pallet for the shoot. When Freddie Met Lilly gowns are exquisitely made from beautiful French and Italian laces and often we add hand cut lace pieces and swarovski crystals, glass beading and pearls and are made to order, meaning all their gowns can be customised to your liking. With experienced stylists to guide you through the design process they are a must see for any brides looking for the perfect couture gown!

Bringing the romance and an ethereal quality to this shoot was the combined styling of Studio B. Couture and the delicate yet wild and whimsical floral design of Peridot Pretty. Together Lorelie and Malindri drew on the rich burgundy and the cool blues from the venue to create a stunning tablescape, bouquet and floral crowns.

Malindri of Peridot Pretty is passionate about Love, our planet, and art. She uses fine and contemporary art techniques in all her creations to ensure originality and specific development of her clients vision to align with her core inspirations, nature, luxury and light. Malindri works with stationer Lorelie of Studio B. Couture to provide an original artist statement to accompany her creations, that doubles as a keepsake of your special day. For this shoot Lorelie created a handcrafted paper house to display the statement that reflected the elements of the floral designs.

Our stunning model Monique was radiant in accessories provided by accessory specialists Little White Couture who provided a splendid touch of rose gold and crystal bling to complete the bridal look. Little White Couture is an australian wedding accessories company that offers an exquisite collection. They are dedicated to sourcing the most beautiful accessories, from earrings and necklaces to wedding garters and luxury bridal robes. If your looking for something to add the finishing touch to your special day, then the chances are Little White Couture will have what you are looking for!

As we all know, a celebration wouldn't be complete without the perfect venue and the team chose an inner city gem, The Smug Fig Cafe, an urban oasis set in a garden nursery in a bustling inner city suburb. The Cafe offers tailor-made food packages as well as BYO options, providing a cost effective and spacious venue that is sure to impress your guests. Their venue caters for a seated capacity of 90 guests or for a cocktail type event with a standing capacity of 150 guests. With its inside-outside feeling created by the leafy surrounds of the nursery this venue provides a truly distinctive setting that sets it apart from anything else you have seen before.

We hope that you enjoy looking through this festive celebration as much as we did. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of our talented vendors that we feature in our magazine and on our blog for your creativity and support in enabling us to bring the latest and freshest inspiration to our readers.

We cannot wait to meet all the newly engaged couples from this splendid festive season and to continue bringing you inspiration in 2019. Merry Christmas Everyone!
