Joshua Tree Desert Elopement

There is nothing quite like the rich colour palette of the desert, from aqua skies to the blush and umber tones of the surrounding landscape and this spectacular shoot has it all! Captured by Alex Meyer Photography with videography by One Thousand Eyes Productions from the Bohemian Joshua Tree Workshop, hosted by Kaylee of Kaylee Julianna Photography of The Adventurous Workshop this stunning shoot had us captured from the moment we opened the gallery.

The setting for the shoot was the spectacular Joshua Tree National Park, a vast protected area of desert in southern California. Characterized by its rugged rock formations and stark desert landscapes, it is named for the region’s twisted, bristled Joshua trees. The park straddles the cactus-dotted Colorado Desert and the Mojave Desert, which is higher and cooler.

Choosing to have your elopement or wedding at Joshua tree will require a 'Special Park Use Permit' regardless of the size of your celebration. The cost of the wedding application is $120.00 USD and is non-refundable. Additional costs may be a applicable and will vary depending on the number of people and location you choose. It is also important to note that if you are hiring a professional photographer, videographer or cater they are each required to obtain a separate 'Special Use Permit'. More information and everything you need to know about Joshua Tree from park closures to permits and items you can and cannot have onsite can be found on the National Parks Website

The shoots aesthetic was created by drawing on the natural colour palette of the surrounding desert combined with one of a kind pieces and rich bohemian textures courtes of the teams rental and decor specialists 3 Little Birds Event Planning and Swoon Home Living. The look was finished with stunning floral designs that seemed to reach toward the couple embracing them in a moment of stunning romantic whimsy. Created by master floral designer Stephanie of The Floraltique who specialises in designing floral art that makes spaces and events come to life. Stephanie loves to work with the seasons to create unique designs that are truly inspired by the changing nature around us and includes; texture, shape, and colour to paint a picture that tells a couples story.

Shae the team's beautiful bride was a picture of bridal perfection in a stunning bohemian lace gown from Lulus with flawless earthen toned makeup created by Sarah of Beauty with Sarah Mae, her hair was styled in an effortlessly tumbled half up half down braided style by hair stylists Just Lago. Shae's bridal look was completed with one of the most stunning autumn toned bouquets by Stephanie at The Floraltique that we have ever seen featuring featuring some simply show stopping blooms.

Not to be outdone, Sean the team's handsome groom was the picture of a relaxed bohemian groom in a stunning rich burgundy suit with a classic pintucked white shirt and black bowtie, his look was completed with a buttonhole of matching blooms and hand torn ribbon.

With so many jaw dropping elements to this shoot, we are at a loss to pick our favourite elements, however we just have to mention the whimsical one of a kind buttercream cactus cake created by Soil Mate and the stunning stationery suite by Something Lettered that featured an illustrated cactus with unique geometric patterns and geometric die cut inclusion cards.
